2020 Program

November 7 at 7:00 pm EST: Welcome back!

The Crime Bake 2020 committee has explored ways to connect with you during these unprecedented times and we have a mix of tried and true events and fresh programming.

In the meantime, here’s a preview of our exciting panels and their speakers in this year’s virtual FREE event!

Writing During the Pandemic

Celebrated author and attorney BrendaBuchanan explores the pros and cons, dos and don’ts, and ups and downs of pounding out the pages no matter what’s going on in the world with four working writers who get the job done every time: bestselling author and Goodreads blogger Jeannette de Beauvoir, who writes the Provincetown mysteries as well as historical fiction;  author and physician Alexia Gordon, whose Gethsemane Brown mysteries have been short-listed for the Agatha Award and won the Lefty; the amazingly prolific Edith Maxwell aka Maddie Day, the Agatha Award winning author of nearly two dozen novels; and the award-winning poet and novelist Peter Swanson, whose books have been translated into more than 30 languages.

The Publishing Landscape: 2020 and Beyond

Acclaimed book blogger and MWA Raven Award recipient Dru Ann Love of Dru’s Book Musings leads a lively and informative discussion about the state of the book business today and going forward during these uncertain times. On board will be Jason Pinter, publisher and founder of Polis Books and the new crime fiction imprint Agora dedicated to diverse voices; editorial expert extraordinaire Terri Bischoff, Senior Acquisitions Editor at Crooked Lane Books; marketing and PR guru Dana Kaye, founder of Kaye Publicity; and Talcott Notch Literary agent and USA TODAY bestselling author Paula Munier.
